The location of the faculty are regional and city neurological, vascular, rehabilitative, stroke, intensive care, out-patient departments and day hospital. There are department centres such as regional vascular centre, centre of medico-social rehabilitation for disabled with damage of nervous system and first aid centres for patients with epilepsy and epileptic syndrome.

The department is consisting of 8 people among which there are 2 professors, 3 associate professor and 3 assistants. Head of the department is professor S.I. Shkrobot who is an Honored Scientist and Engineer of Ukraine and Doctor of Medicine.

Team of the department always provides medical counselling. Professors and associate professors TRCCPH, consultation in the regional psycho-neurological dispensary, examination of seriously ill patients, qualified assistance in conducting military and forensic psychiatric examinations. Staff is examining patients who are recruited and ATO soldiers. These people have been treated in stationary conditions TRCCPH (or in other hospitals) and converted into out-patient care. Professional team of specialists does scheduled consultations in city and regional medical institutions, takes part in meetings of monitoring expert committee TRCCPH, regularly provides consilium, clinical reviews and consultation, patient care. Team department systematically provides arrangements of calling clinical and pathoanatomic conferences, meetings of regional society of neurologists or psychiatrists and intermittent courses for skills development of practical medicine specialists, counselling visits to regional hospitals.

In the last five years in diagnostic and working processes, scientific researches were using the most modern methods such as X-ray contrast (x-ray multi detector spiral computer tomograph of brain (Japan), digital X-ray diagnostic complex, neurophysiological (ultrasound Doppler extracranial and intracranial vessel of the head (USDG, Logidop 4 Kranzbuhler apparatus), ultrasound of internal organs; electroneuromyography (ENMG, Hungarian aparatus MG 440) ), Electroencephalography with neurocardiogram of the brain (ЕЕG) and clinical-laboratory research methods, which are detailed in diagnostical centre of reference hospitals. To deal with patient's mental state diagnostics the department is using methodologies such as standardized evaluation of expression of depression scale and Hamilton's anxiety.

From the 1^st August 2014 the TRCCPH has opened up new opportunities in diagnostics of neurological illnesses by using magnetic resonance theraphy(MRT). By using magnetic resonance tomograph Siemens magneton Avanto 1,5 Т there are many diagnostics of neurological pathologies, which hadn’t been found by computer tomography before. However, the level of acute liver cerebral circulation diagnostics has increased significantly(ischemia of brain stem and posterior cranial fossa), inflammatory diseases of nervous system, encephalitis of various etiologies and myelitis, arteriovenous aneurysms, cerebellum of the brain and spinal cord of the region of localization, demolition of nerve system, anomalous development of the nervous system, degeneratively distrophilic, spinal canal stenosis, syringomy.

During last 3 years an active tactics of treatment for patients with ischemic stroke were implemented in the clinic. According to the state program, “Prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and vascular diseases”, and according to the order Ministry of Health of Ukraine “On improvement of medical care for patients with cerebrovascular pathology” treatment of ischemic stroke within the "therapeutic window" (which consists in carrying out thrombolysis) was implemented in the clinic. In the acute stroke stage, hemorrhagic or ischemic stroke is determined, assessed the risk of complications, found out the need for the appointment of thrombolytics.

These days, all conditions for thrombolytic therapy in the intensive care unit are created in TRCCPH.

Introduction of new methods of diagnosis and treatment is continuing(proposed by the staff of the department in the neurological departments): diagnostics of the state of the ventricular system of the brain in patients with dyscirculatory encephalopathy in conjunction with the internal and external hydrocephalus; the method of computer extinction in patients with neurological manifestations of lumbar osteochondrosis; correction of osteodeficient disorders in patients after an ischemic hemisphere stroke with the help of magnetic therapy; definition of changes in the parameters of central hemodynamics in patients with different subtypes of ischemic stroke for the improvement of therapeutic measures; study of structural and morphometric characteristics of the brain in patients with the effects of craniocerebral trauma; correction of microcirculatory changes in patients with lacunar stroke with the help of infusion and vasoactive agents; diagnosis of quality of life of patients after closed craniocerebral trauma; diagnosis of the state of psychoemotional sphere in patients with multiple sclerosis; principles of complex treatment of patients with multiple sclerosis depending on the stage of the disease, based on data of MRI of the brain.

In 2018 implemented in the clinical practice of neurological departments:

1. Introduction of the definition of aquaphorin antibodies for diagnostics of Devique opticomielitis;

2. Introduction of the definition of morphometric parameters of the brain in the remote period of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage;

3. Introduction of the definition of JC-antibodies in patients with multiple sclerosis in the appointment of modifying therapy;

4. Introduction of the ELISA technique for the diagnosis of boreliosis;

5. Introduction of treatment by immunoglobulins of diseases with immunodeficiency states (myasthenia, viral encephalitis, herpetic meningitis, GREEM, neurosedid, etc.).

Student volunteer groups are created and are constantly working, which are organizing an Autumn Holiday every October, the stock of Christmas candlesticks and ornaments for a permanent fair in the shopping mall “Podolyany” in November. Funds from the stock are transmitted for the treatment of cancer patients and for the needs of the ATO. Also these groups are organizing concert in order to celebrate St. Nicholas Day with a detailed script and gifts.

Team department was involved in conducting educational and practical classes on the basics of medical assistance for the general population. They conducted training on the provision of medical assistance to victims in various emergencies according to the schedule.
